By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 8: Stakeholders demanded to raise child nutrition fund to Rs 1000 from current provision of Rs 532 per month.
The stakeholders were discussing on a program held in the topic “ Policy discussion related to importance of social security program and need of child nutrition fund expansion” by the Social Security Civil Society Network with the assistance of save the child and unicef and empower women prosper Nepal program.
Director of the Department of National ID and Civil Registration social security department Sanubabu Adhikari said that currently 1,092,000 children are beneficiaries of nutrition fund. There is a provision of providing Rs 532 each month in 25 districts.
Member of National Planning Commission Prakash Kumar Shrestha said that social security fund are being distributed in 87 different theme. It should get increased over time.
Member of Parliament Ranju Kumari Jha said that child nutrition fund must be raised to Rs 1000 per month and should be appropriate in 77 districts.
