blog

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 7: On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Russia, a symbolic “Immortal Regiment” procession was organised here, bringing together Russian citizens and friends of Russia in Nepal.

Participants drove through the streets of the capital bearing the Victory Banner, Russian national flags, and traditional symbols of the holiday. The convoy proceeded along key city roads, culminating in a commemorative stop on Durbar Marg near the central LED screen, where participants took a group photo to honor the memory of their relatives who fought in the Second World War.

This commemorative action carries deep meaning for all Russians, wherever they may be. It serves as a living tribute to the heroism of those who secured peace for future generations and as a reminder of the importance of preserving historical memory.

The event was carried out in full coordination with the Kathmandu police and proceeded in a dignified and respectful manner, according to the information provided by the Russian Embassy in Nepal.
