Russian Embassy holds programme to mark 80th anniversary of Victory at the Great Patriotic War

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 6: The Embassy of Russian Federation in Nepal hosted a programme to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory at the Great Patriotic War.

"The 9th of May in 1945 became a symbolic of the triumph of justice, heroism and the strong will of the Soviet people. Their incredible courage, unity and moral spirit made it possible to defeat the Nazi, fascist and racist forces that were trying to genocide all the inhabitants of the USSR. It is shameful that these forces are raising their heads again in Europe. And this is reflected in particular, in their positioning in relation to the countries of the Global South and people of other ethnic groups," Russian Ambassador Aleksei A. Novikov said at the programme, highlighting the significance of the Victory Day.
