Police officers enjoy Pitambar

blog

By Our Correspondent,Pokhara, Apr. 19: A group of police officers enjoyed the screening of the film Pitambar at Midtown Cinema in Pokhara.

Curious and whispering among themselves, audience members who were waiting in line for tickets wondered what was happening.

However, the uniformed officers were not there to resolve any incident or arrest anyone.

But only when they sat near the poster of Pitambar and began taking photographs, the audience realised that the officers were there to watch the film.

A team of Nepal Police, including  15 police personnel and two police Inspectors watched the film sitting together with audience.

The police had gone to watch the film at the initiative of DSP Santosh Niraula of Ward Police Office, Kaski, Baidam.

Inspector Kiran Thapa Magar of the same police office gave positive feedback about the film. He said that they came to watch the film during their off-duty hours.

“We also came to encourage police personnel to take an interest in Nepali cinema. This is also a form of refreshment for us,” he added.

He further added that since the film includes a storyline related to the Nepal Police, it felt particularly meaningful for them.

Currently, Pitambar is being screened in theatres nationwide.

After a successful opening, the film's team has embarked on a provincial tour to gather audience feedback.

Starting from Dhangadhi, the team includes actors Pradeep Khadka, Anoop Bikram Shahi, Divya Dev Pant, director Krisha Chaulagain, and producer Bishal Chaulagain.
