Kathamdnu, Apr.11: Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been detained.
Spokesperson at the Nepal Police Headquarters, Deputy Inspector General Dinesh Kumar Acharya, said that medical practitioner Prasai and his bodyguard Deepak Khadka have been taken into custody from Bhadrapur, Jhapa.
Prasai has been taken into custody from Bhadrapur on Friday on charges of inciting violence during a protest in support of the former king in Tinkune on March 28. He is being brought to Kathmandu for necessary investigation, read the press release.
Police said that the Prasai were arrested for committing crimes against the state and organized crime while participating in the violent protest held in Tinkune, Kathmandu on March 28.
Two people were killed in a demonstration in support of the former monarch in Tinkune.
Prasai was at large immediately after the incident.
