11 inured in passenger bus accident

By Kedar Timalsina, Banepa, Apr.10: Eleven passengers were injured when a passenger bus collided with a Hiace in Daunne of Roshi Rural Municipality-9 of the district along the BP Highway.

The accident occurred at around 8:25 AM on Thursday when a passenger bus (Province 3-01-006 Kha 1339) heading from Kathmandu to Ramechhap collided with a Hiace vehicle (Me 1 Kha 3394) en route from Khandbari towards Kathmandu, according to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk.

Police said that the bus skidded when it could not hit the break due to the rain and hit a passing vehicle, causing it to fall approximately 20 meters off the road.

Police said that 11 of the 15 passengers on the bus were injured in the accident. All the injured have been sent to Methinkot Hospital in Bhakundebesi, Kavrepalanchok, for treatment. Police said that two of the injured passengers are in moderate condition while the remaining others are in normal condition.

The bus driver is under the control of the Area Police office, Mangaltar.
