By Sujal Shrestha, Pyuthan, Apr.8: Tourists are now flocking to Swargadwari, a religious and tourist destination in the district, which is cold all year round.

With the onset of summer, the number of pilgrims coming from various parts of Nepal and India has increased as to get away from the heat.

Hari Adhikari, the ashram's chief administrative officer, said that Swargadwari, located at an altitude of 2,100 meters, is cold all year round and has a cool environment even in summer.

According to him, many tourists visit Swargadwari during this time as it is also the time when the red hibiscus flowers bloom and the bayberry (kafal) ripens.

Adhikari said that there is an inflow of pilgrims in Swargadwari throughout the year due to road accessibility.

Durga Bohora, a hotelier from Bhingri, said that pilgrims from various parts of India and Nepal visit Swargadwari.

He said, "Not a single day goes without the arrival of devotees in Swargadwari. Even small vehicles can be used to commute to the area in line with blacktopped on road."

Last year, the Road Division and Road Infrastructure Office built railings and mesh walls along the roads in risky areas, with an investment of over Rs. 10 million.

According to the ashram, around 500,000 tourists visit Swargadwari every year from various parts of India and Nepal.
