"We have monitored all the water production and processing industries in the district," he said. "We have asked them to immediately operate a laboratory and provide information to the office with evidence."
According to Information Officer Subedi, consumers are forced to drink unclean water due to the lack of a laboratory.
It is mentioned that a laboratory should be arranged as per the Directives on the Production of Processed Drinking Water 2074.
In the case of not having a laboratory, it is mentioned that physical and chemical analysis of treated and untreated water should be done by a recognized laboratory once every month.
However, water industries are negligent on that as well.
“Industries have been processing water through ‘Aaro machines’ and sending it directly to the market.
However, if there is any problem with the equipment, the water should be tested in a laboratory to see if it is pure or not before sending it to the market, but that has not been done as well,” said Information Officer Subedi.
There are currently 12 water industries operating in the district.
Among them, Bhadrakali Drinking Water, located in Tulsipur-9, has brought the laboratory into operation, said Information Officer Subedi.
He said that written instructions have been given to all those industries to arrange laboratories.
There are 20 water industries registered in the district.
