Press Center visits journalist Rajak's home, sides with family's demand

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 3: Newly elected leadership team of the Press Center, Nepal, today visited family of journalist Suresh Rajak who was killed in the arson during recent monarchist demonstration at Tinkune.

During the home visit, Press Center members paid tribute to late Rajak and expressed condolences to the grieved family members. 

Suresh Rajak lost his life in the royalist arson attack in Tinkune, Kathmandu, which was held on March 28.

The team was led by newly elected chairman of the Press Center Nepal (PCN) Kamal Giri, along with vice chairman Ramsingh Thagunna, Dipak Shrestha, outgoing general secretary Santosh Poudel, and newly elected general secretary Manoj Gharti Magar, reached Rajak's house on Thursday.

On the occasion, Chairman Giri said that Rajak was not killed but murdered and he demanded a fair investigation into the incident, compensation for the family, and strict action against the culprits.


The family is demanding that Rajak should be declared a martyr for dying 'on the spot' while on the job (reporting), fair investigation and immediate and stern action against the culprits. 

Chairman Giri said that they are with the family and the organization will stand in solidarity for justice for Rajak.  

The Press Center also provided Rs. 10,000 as assistance for the victim's family.
