Lumbini beats Madhesh by 83 runs in PM cup

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar 17: Lumbini Province defeated Madhesh Province by 83 runs in the PM Cup match at Deukhuri Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Batting first Lumbini scored a total of 158 runs before being all out in 46 overs. 

Lumbini's Aakash Tripathi hit a half-century scoring 73 runs, Krishna Karki 33 and Dev Khanal 16 runs whereas other batsmen couldn't score runs in double digits.

Madhesh's Bishal Patel and Kamal Gupta took three wickets each and Harishankar Shah, Pradip Paswan and Ranjit Kumar took a single wicket each.

In response, Madhesh province became all-out by managing 75 runs in 26.5 overs. 

Madhesh's Dipesh Das scored 23 runs and Harishankar Shah 14 runs. No other batsmen were able to score runs in double digits.

Defending a small total Lumbini succeeded in stopping Madhesh in just 75 runs with the help of Lumbini's bawler Ramesh Kurmi took four wickets giving 10 runs in an 8 overs spell with two over maiden.

Similarly, Biprason KC took three wickets giving 7 runs in 5 overs spell with 3 overs maiden. Dev Khanal and Ajay Chauhan took a single wicket each. 

With the win, Lumbini earned 8 points with 4 victories whereas Madhesh stayed with 2 points with one match win.
