Birgunj Gold Cup: Birgunj United wins the opening match

Birgunj (Parsa), March 1: The team Birgunj United Club has won the opening match of the Second Birgunj Gold Cup 2081 that started on Saturday.     

In the match played at the Adarshanagar Stadium, host Birgunj United defeated Garwal Diamond Football Club Delhi with 1-0.     

Diamond Football Club's striker Sandip Rana made a suicide goal, a decisive goal for the match.     

Sankata Football Club and Sahalesh Football Club Siraha are scheduled to play on Sunday.     

Earlier, Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City Rajeshman Singh inaugurated the tournament and stated that the tournament is expected to contribute to the city's tourism, social life and economic activities.     

The title winner of the tournament would bag Rs 1,111,111 in cash, a trophy and medals while the runner-up team would get Rs 555,555, a trophy and medals.     

Similarly, the outstanding player of the tournament would get a scooter while outstanding goalkeeper and coach will take home Rs 20,000 each. The player of the match of every game would get Rs 10,000.(RSS)
