Snowfall disrupts Nagma-Gamgadhi route

By Hari Krishna Aidi, Mugu, Mar.1: Nagma-Gamgadhi route along the Karnali Highway has been blocked due to heavy snowfall in the Himalayan district of Mugu. 

The road section at Ghuchchi Lek under the Nagma-Gamgadhi route has been disrupted due to the heavy snowfall since Thursday. With this, the general life of people has been affected. 

With the road blocked, people's lives have been affected. 

Kamal Rokaya, a transport businessman, said that dozens of freight and passenger vehicles are stuck in Ghuchchi Lek due to snow accumulation.

According to him, there is more than one foot of snow on the road from Ghuchchi to Bandh khola (stream).

According to Ramesh Budha, commuters have not been able to reach Gamgadhi due to thick snow, Bulbule, and Ghuchchi Lek.

Chief District Officer of District Administration Office Mugu Kalmal Prasad Pandey said that coordination has been established with the Road Division Office Jumla to remove frozen snow by an excavator. 

He said that they have a goal to clear the snow till 2 PM, but are facing difficulties as the weather is yet to clear. 

He has urged businessmen and travelers to be vigilant, patient and remain safe.
