Kathmandu, Feb 28: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said government must not bring the ordinance to amend some acts relating to land without withdrawing the bills which under consideration at different parliament committees.
He accused the government of bringing the ordinance to serve party acolytes rather than resolve the land-related problems facing the country.
Chairman Nepal said it while addressing an interaction on 'land-related ordinance' organized by the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal here Friday. "Government needs running as per law and procedure," he stressed, expressing that there was no space at all for hope of positive intension in the ordinance.
On the occasion, Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and former Deputy Prime Minister, Upendra Yadav, demanded the government that it retracted the land-related ordinance. Otherwise, they would launch protest, he warned.
The problems of landless squatters should be resolved after identifying them properly and holding discussions with experts, he suggested.(RSS)
