Sydney (Australia), Feb 27: The Association of Nepali Origin (ANO) Australia chapter has been formed.
Dambar Dhungel, a Nepali speaking Bhutani origin, was picked as the chair of the chapter.
Likewise, Dinesh Kathayat, Gagan Bidari, Raj Kumar Shrestha and Leela Bhandari have been named as the vice-chair, general secretary, assistant general-secretary and treasurer of the chapter, respectively.
Other members in the committee include Nikesh Sharma, Ram Khatiwada, Yubaraj Sharma, Hari Pokharel, Khagendra Acharya, Ashika Rai, Bijaya Basnet, Sarita Dhakal, Bhawani Dhakal, Pushpa Acharya and Govinda Gautam.
General Secretary of ANO International Committee CM Bhattarai shared that the Nepali speaking people from Bhutan, Myanmar, India and other countries have been included in the ANO.
The ANO was established aiming at preserving Nepali arts and cultures across the world.
Addressing the announcement of ANO Australia chapter, Nepal's Ambassador to Australia Chitra Lekha Yadav urged the Nepali speaking community to remain proactive for the prosperity of Nepal.(RSS)
