Collective efforts needed to improve quality of education: DPM Singh

Kathmandu, Feb 27: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Man Singh, has stressed the need of collective efforts to increase quality of education.  

In the 29th International Conference of Nepal English Language Teachers' Association organized in Lalitpur from today, DPM Singh laid emphasis on the need of developing curriculum, imparting training to teachers and formulating timely policy. 

Stating that there is positive changes in education sector as compared to past, he mentioned that it was good aspect to creating an enabling environment to pursue quality education in the country. 

The Deputy Prime Minister urged the Association to contribute for positive changes in educational policy reform by formulating policy related to English language.

"We should carryout activities collaborating with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to ensure constant reform in curriculum, teaching materials and teaching method", he argued.

Lauding the role played by the Association to take forward the English language education in Nepal since its establishment in 1992, he urged the Association to play additional role to enhance English language teaching and learning in remote areas of Nepal.
