Damauli (Tanahun), Feb 27: The task
of opening 'track' of the alternative road of Muglin-Narayangadh section has
started.
The opening of the track
(Muglin-Gaighat-Dasdhunga-Thimura-Gaindakot road) has started as an alternative
route.
In this connection, the Department
of Roads has allocated Rs 26.93 million for the project in the current fiscal
year.
Work is underway to open the track
of the road from Abukhaireni rural municipality-4, Pulzeep in Tanahun
district.
The Department of Roads (DoR) has
awarded the contract for the first phase of the road linking Muglin with
Gaindakot of Nawalpur via Gaighat, Dasdhunga, Thimura and Devpur of
Devghat
Keshav Chandra Neupane, a local of
Devghat, said the government has listened to the demands raised by the locals
time and again for the construction of an alternative route.
Locals had demanded an alternative
road connecting Dasdhunga via British Camp of Gaidakot Municipality-3 and
Deupur of Devghat Rural Municipality-5 in Nawalpur and an alternative route
from Dasdhunga to Muglin on the banks of Trishuli towards Tanahun.
Devghat rural municipality chair
Til Bahadur Thapa said Devghat would take initiative for the construction of
the road.
Devghat rural municipality is not
touched by the national highway at present, he said, expressing the belief that
the road from Gaindakot to Dasdhunga via Devghat if constructed would bring
religious touristic opportunities in the pilgrimage site. (RSS)
