One dies in Panchthar road mishap

By Radha Luitel, Phidim, Feb.27: One person died in a road accident in Hilihang Rural Municipality of Panchthar District. According to District Police Office Panchthar,  one died and two others have sustained injuries in an accident.

35-year-old Hemraj Yogi, Hilihang Rural Municipality-1, who was seriously injured when the bolero (Me 1 Ja 3073)  carrying students of Mangseva Boarding School of Hilihang-1, veered down, died later. 

Yogi, who was rescued from the scene of the incident in critical condition, was brought to Panchthar Hospital at night, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. 

The injured have been identified as 26-year-old Binod Tamang and 20-year-old Manish Lingden of Hilihang 1.

Among them, Tamang was referred from Panchthar Hospital to B&C Medical College Teaching Hospital and Research Center Private Limited for further treatment as his condition was serious, the police said.

Chief of District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kaushal Kumar Budhathoki, the 19-year-old bolero driver Sameer Khati has been detained and further investigation into the matter is underway. 

Bolero met with an accident while returning after dropping students of Mangseva Boarding School in Amarpur in their designated places around 6 PM on Wednesday evening.

The police also said that the Bolero lost control and skilled off 100 meters below the road.

It is said that the process of handing over the body of Yogi, who died in the accident, to his relatives has been started following the postmortem.
