Biratnagar, Feb 26: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said the party's ongoing awakening campaign centred on the East-West Postal Highway Area has helped the party understand citizens' issues.
Speaking at a press meet organised
by the Morang chapter of the Press Centre Nepal here on Wednesday, the leader said the
campaign has been useful in perceiving the problems of indigenous, ethnic
communities and the Madheshi residing in the southern belt, prompting the party
to take initiatives for addressing them.
"The awakening campaign is
essential for achieving economic development. It will contribute to
increasing production and productivity. This Mechi to Mahakali campaign is also
for good governance," he said, adding that Nepali citizens are encouraged
by it and the party is the 'actor' for transformation in the country.
He pressed the need for a directly
elected executive chief in the country for what he argued to end political
anomalies and address citizens' aspirations for peace and prosperity. (RSS)
