Kathmandu, Feb 26: The Embassy of
Nepal in Bangladesh observed the 262nd Raising Day of the Nepali Army in the
Embassy premises on Monday.
On the occasion, Nepali Ambassador
to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, stated that the Day served as a reminder of
the unwavering dedication, loyalty, and service of the Nepali Army towards
Nepal and Nepali people.
Also speaking on the military cooperation
between Nepal and Bangladesh, Bhandari expressed confidence that such
cooperation would contribute to further consolidating the friendly bilateral
ties.
Military Attaché Colonel Anjan
Keshar Khatri highlighted the role of the Nepali Army in safeguarding Nepal’s
sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He also shed light on the
Nepali Army’s contributions to Nepal’s socio-economic development as well as on
its role in maintaining international peace and security through UN peacekeeping.
Over 170 guests including
government officials, ambassadors and heads of missions, high-ranking officers
from the armed forces of Bangladesh, defence attaches, members of the
diplomatic corps, business leaders, and representatives from the Nepali
community in Bangladesh were present on the occasion, according to press
statement released by the Embassy. (RSS)
