By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 26: The song ‘Jau Bhane Jau Ta Ni, Duichar Mahina Ghumera Aau Ta Ni, Himal Chuchure, Dai Ko Man Kasto Bani Nishthure’ helped the Nepathya Band gain popularity in its early days.

Now the same song has been re-released after three decades.

According to a press release issued by Nepalaya, the old folk-inspired song was originally arranged in a ‘pop’ style by the band. Now, it has been reintroduced in a ‘folk rock’ version and will be featured in a new video.

The band and a new generation of video creators collaborated to re-create the old song in a fresh style.

Dipit Raj, a videographer who has been working with Nepathya for the past few years, has compiled visuals from Nepathya’s concerts held in Nepal and the United States last year to create this four-minute-and-fifteen-second video.

The band itself has been performing the song in its new form at concerts for some time now.

Nepathya’s second album, Himal Chuchure, was released in 1994.

“We initially wanted to record the song as ‘Himal Chuchure Kyasto’ to match the mispronunciation we had heard in school,” said founder and vocalist Amrit Gurung. “But since our team couldn’t agree on it, we eventually recorded it in a more refined form.”

Amrit expressed his happiness at seeing how the song, which influenced their school days, has evolved.

“Nepathya has always introduced new songs according to the tastes of the younger generation,” said Kiran Krishna Shrestha, the team leader of Nepalaya, which manages the band.
