Kathmandu, Feb 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the youths should not worry as the country has entered a prosperous era.
Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of silver jubilee celebration of Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Jorpati on Tuesday, PM Oli stated that the country has witnessed unexceptional development. Hence, the narrative that nothing has happened and the government has done nothing is false.
Arguing that developing a country was not a random job, the PM said the government was working in a serious manner and the people should extend their support in this journey. "The government should support to those sans food and clothing. The government should ensure education to those out of school. But, it does not mean that scholarship should be provided to those who are able to pay their (tuition) fees," according to the PM.
A favourable environment should be created by ensuring additional facilities and quotas in all government and private medical colleges for the higher studies to those national and international students who are able to pursue their degree by paying themselves, according to the PM.
The PM argued that the private schools should not be taken into the Guthi (trust) adding that education is not a sector to be destabilized.
Likewise, the PM said the unqualified teachers cannot be paid higher and the students cannot be blamed for the weak performance of the teachers.
On the occasion, the PM recalled that he laid foundation stone of 396 hospitals at a single day during his past tenure but admitted that their effective advancement was lacking.
During the programme, PM Oli released the Hospital's Silver Jubilee Souvenir publication.(RSS)
