APF inspector Joshi detained in suicide case of inspector Mahat

By Phadindra Adhikari, Lekhnath,  Feb.25: Armed Police Force (APF) inspector Bivek Joshi has been arrested after the death of police inspector Santoshi Mahat.

Basant Kumar Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office Kaski said that Joshi has been arrested. The incident is under investigation.

Mahat's body was found hanging from a beam near the women's toilet of the barracks on Sunday. 

Mahat was working at Hull and Riot Management Training Center Lama Patan of Pokhara. 28-year-old Mahat of Sindhupalchok joined the armed forces in 2016.

The detained police inspector Joshi is currently serving at Tanahun district.

 A case has been filed claiming that Mahat and Joshi were in a romantic relationship and Mahat committed suicide because of Joshi.

The Armed Police Force has formed an inquiry committee under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police Laxman Singh to investigate this incident.
