Sajha Publications gets new leadership

Patan (Lalitpur) Feb 22: Shekhar Giri has been unanimously elected the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sajha Prakashan (Publications).     

The 25th General Assembly unanimously elected three members of the Board of Directors.     

The newly elected board of directors are Jayanta Pokharel from women category, Prof. Dr. Dhruva Ghimire and Manohar Lamichhane from open category.     

Likewise, Basistha Kumar Adhikari Rajkumar Thapa and Basudha Pandey Basnet were elected as the audit committee members of the Publications.     

Earlier, in the inaugural session of the general meeting, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Balaram Adhikari expressed the commitment to put efforts to resolve the problems taking place over there.     

He also assured necessary support to the Publications on behalf of the ministry. Similarly, literary figure Dr. Tulasi Prasad Bhattarai, while discussing the contribution of Shajha, pointed out the need for management reforms to steer ahead the institution.     

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Chandra Thapaliya underlined the need of making arrangements for the smooth sale of books institutionally.     

Suggesting the newly elected leadership to develop the capacity to make the Publications viable, he urged to develop the printing of all the documents of the Ministry of Communications. "I am also a member of this organization, my heart goes out to the common people, all the libraries of the government should have books of Sajha Publications," Thapaliya said.(RSS)
