Kathmandu, Feb 18: The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Nepal program run by the US aid agency, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) has been suspended.
The Ministry of Finance has officially informed through a press release issued on Tuesday that the MCA Nepal program has been suspended for three months.
“An email sent by the MCC on February 14 informed stakeholders that activities to be paid from MCC funds related to projects being implemented have been suspended in accordance with the Executive Order of the US President issued on 20 January 2025 regarding the 90-day suspension,” reads the press release. Nepal had signed the MCC compact in September 2017.(RSS)
