Opposition party lawmakers express their objection in HoR

Kathmandu, Feb 11: Lawmakers of the opposition parties have expressed their objection and put forth the demand of running the meeting of House of Representatives as per rule and process.     

After the emergency and zero hours of today's HoR meeting, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, who was chairing today's meeting, allotted time to lawmaker of the Nepali Congress, Ram Hari Khatiwada, to speak.     

Khatiwada put his views on various issues including attack on legal practitioner in court premises.     

Soon after Khatiwada put forth his views, Ganesh Parajuli of the Rastriya Swatantra Party expressed objection. He raised question why lawmaker of the ruling party was allowed to speak and standing on which provision of the HoR business operation regulations.     

Deputy-Speaker Rana shared that lawmaker Khatiwada was allowed to speak as his name was included in the list of emergency hour, but was missed out.     

Rana, after lawmakers of the opposition parties including the CPN (Maoist Centre) raised question on the rule and process, informed that the Parliament Secretariat has been directed to study over the issue but they were not satisfied with the answer of Deputy-Speaker Rana.     

Chief Whip of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Hitraj Pandey, said the meeting should be run based on rule and process.     

After continuous protest of the opposition parties, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, shared that the meeting was postponed for 15 minutes.(RSS)
