Kathmandu, Feb 11: The annual
exhibition relating to communications and information technology, 'CAN
InfoTech, 2025' concluded in the federal capital, Kathmandu.
The event was organized by the
Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation from February 6 to 10. It was
the 30th edition.
The exhibition was inaugurated by
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
In addition to those interested in innovation, startup, technology and IT
entrepreneurs, the high level government officials, students and policy makers
attended the event.
The organizers shared that the
exhibition would give pace to the acceleration of Digital Nepal campaign.
Former ministers including Parbat
Gurung and Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani, and Deputy Mayor at Kathmandu Metropolis,
Sunita Dangol, visited the exhibition.
Varieties of IT brands were
displayed in the event where information was provided on telecommunication and
internet providers, fin-tech, ecommerce, cyber security, AI and block
chain.
The innovative technologies,
startups, softwares and application produced in the country and abroad drew
attention of the visitors.
CAN Federation's Chair Sunaina
Ghimire said the organization would collaborate with government for the
development of IT sector in Nepal. The CAN Federation was closely observing the
initiatives for data protection act, ride sharing policy, AI technology, data
management and foreign investment in this sector, she added.
More than 200 thousand people
visited the exhibition, according to organizers. There were a total of 155
display stalls. Even the interactions and discussions were held as part of the
event.
General Secretary of the
Federation, Chandra Bilash Bhurtel, expressed belief that the exhibition would
give a boost to Nepal's innovation and IT development. (RSS)
