By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Feb.10: One died after sustaining injury by a machete that was blown in the 'gang fight' during the wedding at Baijanath Rural Municipality of Banke district.
According to police, Dinesh Rokaya, of Baijanath Rural Municipality -8, who was injured in a gang fight at Pushpanagar beach line, died during treatment in Lucknow, India.
According to District Police Office Banke, a gang fight broke out between the drunken youths at the time of a celebratory dance to welcome the bride to groom's wife after the wedding of a local youth, Subas Buda.
Suddenly the group of Ram Bahadur Rana, who is brother-in-law to the groom, and the group of the neighbor, Dinesh Rokaya, got into a gang fight when the celebratory dance was ongoing to welcome the bride in the groom's house after the wedding.
Dinesh was seriously injured by a strike from Rana's machete during a squabble, the police said.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ayush Prasad Joshi, Spokesperson for the District Police Office, Banke, 25-year-old Dinesh Rokay died on Sunday during treatment in Lucknow, India.
He said that five other injured persons are receiving treatment at the Nepalgunj Medical College (NGMC), Kohalpur.
According to DSP Joshi, the police have arrested 6 people, including 35-year-old Ram Bahadur Rana, a brother-in-law of the groom, of Baijanath Rural Municipality-2, for his involvement in the murder.
Locals said that after the dispute escalated between the two groups who had been consuming alcohol since afternoon, it took the form of a brawl creating chaos in the scene.
District Police Spokesperson DSP Joshi said that an investigation into the incident has been underway.
