Kathmandu, Feb 8: Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' said that the ANNISU (Revolutionary)'s election has ended the situation of becoming leader without being student.

At a swearing-in ceremony of office-bearers and members elected from the 23rd National Conference of ANNISU (Revolutionary) here today, he said the recent election has sent a powerful message that the Maoists had finalized both the policy and leadership through democratic means.

"It is an important practice for the party to take decisions on the age limit and leadership through election itself without the party's direct interference", Prachanda said, adding, "The results have created an environment to move forward together and unite the organization."

Urging all to remain effortful for excellence in the upcoming Free Student Union (FSU) elections, he called for them to set a strong determination for the upcoming FSU elections and make all preparations in unison.

On the occasion, Immediate Past President Panja Singh handed over the responsibility to newly-elected President Bijaya Prakash Sharma Sapkota. The election held on last January 25 had picked new leadership in ANNISU-R.(RSS)
