Speaker Ranamagar awarded

Morang, Feb 8: The Chetana Preservation Foundation, Biratnagar has conferred the Social Service Awareness Award on Speaker Indira Ranamagar.

The award is provided to the persons who have made contributions to literature, culture, art and journalism.     

The award for this year was conferred on Speaker Ranamagar on the occasion of 20th anniversary of the Foundation on Saturday. The award carries the purse of Rs 51,000.     

Also receiving the award were litterateur Chudamani Bandhu in literature, Bhanubhakta Joshi (Bhajhang) in culture and religion, Kamal Paudel (Morang) in journalism, Santosh Panta (Kathmandu) in art, Ramaji Ram (Rautahat) in youth and talent, and Abhas Dhakal (Syangja) in child talent. The award carries the purse of Rs 51,000.     

In the same programme, Somraj Kattel was given the Jagatbandhu/Anju Karki Awareness Award, carrying the prize of Rs 100 thousand.     

The speaker announced that he would donate the award amount for capacity building of youths in Jhapa district. The service to helpless children and their protection would help bring change in the country, she added.(RSS)
