Kathmandu, Feb.8: Property worth around five million rupees was gutted in a fire that occurred at the Ministry of Water Supply, Singha Durbar this morning.
Two television sets, one desktop, a computer, a water heating machine, a table, a sofa, chairs, carpet, monitor of close circuit camera, got gutted in a fire that broke out in the office of the Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav at 8:35 AM today.
According to the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Water Supply Ramakanta Duwadi, there has been a loss of property worth Rs 4 to 5 million in the office of the minister.
However, the actual details of the damage are yet to be incurred. The reason behind the fire has not been ascertained and police have been carrying out an investigation into the case.
However, no files of the Ministry were damaged in the fire.
Three rooms including the office of Minister Yadav suffered damages in the incident.
