Kathmandu, Feb 7: The stalled works of national pride project, Kathmandu-Tarai/Madhes expressway, would be expedited after resolving land acquisition issues at Khokana area.

The issue has emerged as a challenge constraining the progress of the project. Due to the issue at Khokana, decision regarding the entry point of the expressway and management of vehicular traffic are still pending, causing delays to the purchase and construction of structures in the section.

The acquisition and construction bid for the zero to five kilometers of the expressway has not yet begun.

In this connection, the Ministry of Defense has stated that a land acquisition dispute resolution committee and other subcommittees have been formed under the coordination of the Defense Minister.
