UN Resident Coordinator Hamdy pays courtesy call on Forest Minister Shahi

Kathmandu, Feb 6: Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri paid a courtesy call on United Nations Resident Coordinator of Nepal Hanaa Singer-Hamdy.     

During the meeting held at the Ministry today, they discussed issues related to forest and environment and climate change.     

On the occasion, Minister Shahi said that the Sagarmatha Dialogue being organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Forests was a high-level programme and sought the cooperation of the United Nations to this effect.     

Minister Shahi said the government was making all possible efforts to reduce conflicts between climate, biodiversity and human wildlife.     

Resident Coordinator Hamdy said that the Ministry of Forest has done a good job in the recent past and the Ministry has raised an important 'agenda' in international forums.(RSS)
