Ordinances not to be presented at HoR

Kathmandu, Feb 6: A session of the House of Representatives (HoR) has commenced, with lawmakers actively putting forward their views during the meeting. The agenda to present recently issued ordinances has been removed from the schedule.     

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat's Spokesperson, Ekram Giri, the tabling of ordinances has been withdrawn, and a revised agenda for the session is awaited.     

As per the previous and expected schedule, Finance Committee President Santosh Chalise is set to present the Committee's 2081 BS report regarding the Secured Transactions (First Amendment) Bill. Additionally, State Affairs and Good Governance Committee President Ramhari Khatiwada is expected to present the Economic Procedure and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill and the Committee's report on the Prevention of Corruption (First Amendment) Bill.     

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to introduce the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission's Annual Report for the fiscal year 2079-80 BS.     

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will table the half-yearly evaluation report on the implementation status of the Budget and Programmes for the fiscal year 2081-82 BS.     

Major opposition party CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is also to address the session today.     

On behalf of the government, Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, will be addressing the meeting. (RSS)
