Lamjung, Feb 2: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the constitution would be amended based on national consensus built by both the ruling and opposition parties.
"The constitution has the provision that it can go through necessary amendment in 10 years, so we can evaluate the enforcement of constitution so far and make amendment accordingly," he reminded. The Minister said it while inaugurating an administrative building of Marsyangdi rural municipality at Bhulbhule in Lamjung district.
He shared that the two parties would first identify the points to the amended and later discuss with all sides to make the amendment acceptable to all, Minister Gurung reminded.
"Constitution can not be amended without national consensus," the Minister said, however, arguing that the national charter is not a stone writing. It is a dynamic document, requiring change as per time, he underlined.
He further said, "We have said constitution will be need based and for the development and prosperity of country."
Moreover, Minister Gurung asserted that the present government rescued the economy from coma, and it is now gradually recovering. The ordinances are brought for giving impetus to national economy, development works and good governance.
He also shared about the bills being readied for discussion in the parliament like those relating to social network, civil service, and education, police and the armed police.
The government is working actively for the investment and industrial development in the country, Minister reminded.(RSS)
