Federalism essential to deliver quality service: Province Chief Devkota

 Makwanpur, Feb 1: Chief of Bagmati Province, Deepak Prasad Devkota, has said federalism is essential to deliver quality service to people. Chief Devkota said it while inaugurating the 7th anniversary of the Bagmati Province here Friday.

He, however, said the province government needs to be capable to implement the plans and budget effectively so it could realize economic prosperity and educational development.

At a time when a section has begun criticizing federalism, the honest work of province government would reinforce the relevance of federalism, he argued, suggesting the province government that it underlined the infrastructure development, including pride projects and quality health service.

On the occasion, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Bahadur Singh Lama, said the province government was working effectively to ensure good governance at local levels, bring new laws and provide quality service to the people. People's representatives should always pay heed to people's concern, so that they can earn voters' trust, he added. 

According to him, the sub-national government had attached importance on producing quality workforce via higher education with the establishment of a university in Hetauda, the province capital. Corruption control, implementation of pride projects, promotion of animal husbandry, and agricultural products were other priorities, he shared. (RSS)
