Japanese Film Festival from today

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 31: The Japanese Film Festival 2025 is set to take place at Rastriya Nachghar, Jamal, here on Friday (January 31) and Saturday (February 1).

Organised by the Embassy of Japan in Nepal in association with the Japan Foundation, the two-day festival will feature five Japanese films, two on Friday and three on Saturday. 

Films ‘Brave Father Online Our Story of Final Fantasy  XIV’ and ‘Ito’ will be screened on Friday while ‘Dreaming of the Meridian Arc’, ‘Lu Over the Wall’, and ‘The Fish Tale’ will be shown on Saturday, as mentioned in the press release issued by the Embassy.

In addition to the film screenings, visitors will have the opportunity to experience wearing traditional Japanese attire Yukata and Happi coats at the venue on Saturday, February 1.

The festival will also be held in Pokhara from March 7 to 8 at the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Films such as ‘Takano Tofu’, ‘Where I Belong’, ‘And So the Baton Is Passed’, ‘Key of Life’, and ‘The Line That Defines Me’ will be screened in Pokhara.

The Embassy is organising the Japanese Film Festival in Kathmandu and Pokhara to promote Japanese culture and strengthen ties with the people of Nepal.

The event is supported by the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association Nepal (JALTAN). All movies will be subtitled in English, and entry is free on a first-come, first-served basis., read the press statement.
