By Navinraj Kuinkel, Lamjung, Jan.23: Three Indian nationals have been remanded to prison for their involvement in the incident of kidnapping a 13-year-old girl from Besi bazar, headquarter of Lamjung District.
With the order from Lamjung District Court to keep them in custody for preliminary investigation on Tuesday, they have now been sent to jail.
According to the Information officer of District Police Office Police Inspector Raj Kishore Sah, 40-year-old Bigu Khan and his wife Nargik Khan from Motihari, city, northwestern Bihar state, northeastern India now are in police custody, while the 17 year old minor son has been sent to Juvenile Correction Home at Pokhara.
Registrar Bheshraj Paudel said that a bench of Justice Krishna Prasad Poudel of Lamjung District Court remanded them to remand them in jail in the case of countering kidnapping and extortion for preliminary investigation.
The police received the information that the Khan family had kidnapped 13-year-old Kumari (name changed) living in Besishahar Municipality-7 of Lamjung District and was taking her to India on December 9. Based on the same information, Lamjung police investigated and arrested them.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nishant Srivastava said that the police rescued the girl from the Nepal-India border area and brought her back to Nepal.
He said, "We proceed with the investigation subtly after receiving the information of a minor abduction. We succeeded in arresting the Khan family on December 30."
Khan's family was living in Sahaji of Besishahar Municipality -7, headquarters, making duvets.
