Kanchanpur, Jan 23: Krishnapur Municipality is upgrading 45-km roads in the current fiscal year.
The municipality has started
upgrading roads at the rate of five kilometers each in all the nine wards of
the municipality. In the first phase, work has started from Maluwela at ward
no. 4.
Mayor Hemraj Ojha said the road has
been upgraded using tippers, loaders, tractors and rollers available in the
municipality.
A budget of Rs 5 million has been
allocated for upgrading the roads. "It is estimated that Rs 1 million will
be spent to upgrade one kilometer of road through the user committee,"
Mayor Ojha shared.
The locals have taken ownership of
the road up-gradation when it is being undertaken with the mobilization of
internal resources.
Last year, the municipality had
upgraded 25 kilometers of roads. In the current fiscal year, the road is being
blacktopped in the municipality area at a cost of Rs 120 million received from
the federal and province governments. (RSS)
