BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Jan. 20: Cardiologist Dr. Rajendra Koju has brought out a book titled 'Mutuko Katha' in Nepali.
Dr. Sanduk Ruit, Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, Dr. Ramkantha Makaju, Dr. Smriti Shakya, actor Hari Bansha Acharya and author Koju himself jointly launched the book amid a function held in the capital, Kathmandu recently.
According to veteran actor Acharya, reading the book will surely lead us to our own well-being. He said, "Reading this book will help you lead a heart-healthy lifestyle."
Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, a veteran cardiologist, stated that writing a book is a virtuous act in itself and reading the book is equally a means of earning merit.
"Even as a heart doctor, I couldn’t write a book like this," he said. "The stories in this book resonate with the experiences and treatments I have encountered," he added.
Dr. Shakya, another heart specialist, said, "If we manage to balance our lifestyle and diet, as emphasised in the book, we can protect our hearts and live longer."
Dr. Ruit said that the book conveys the message that only a healthy heart ensures a healthy life. "It is a practical and engaging read for everyone," he said.
Likewise, Dr. Makaju, Executive Director of Dhulikhel Hospital, said that the book would serve as a constant reminder for us to maintain good health.
Author Dr. Koju shared that the book weaves together the stories of patients he has treated, observed and learned from throughout his career. "I hope that these stories will contribute in some way to the welfare of humanity," he said.
Chief of the Bookhill Publications Bhupendra Khadka shared that publishing a book like this was bliss in itself.
Published by the Book Hill Publications, the 240-page book with illustrations is priced at Rs. 500.
