Flights resume after clearing snow pile in Simkot airport

Simkot (Humla), Jan 17: Air services to and from the Simkot airport were resumed after clearing off the snow pile.     

Simkot Airport Chief Mahendra Singh informed that the air service was brought back into smooth operation after removing the snow piled up on the airport runway. There was snowfall in the district since Thursday morning.     

The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police jointly cleared the snow debris off the airport runway and hangar this morning.     

Immediately after the snow clearance, Sita and Summit Air took off from Nepalgunj, Airport Chief Singh said.     

The road connecting the headquarters Simkot was also halted for two days due to snowfall.(RSS)
