Kathmandu, Jan 17: An international art exhibition kicked off at Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Naxal.
The exhibition includes creations by various artists from Nepal, the United States of America, Ireland and Denmark.
The expo entitled "From the Rockies to the Himalayas", is jointly organised by the NAFA, Bindu Space for Artist, and the Kathmandu Triennale.
Inaugurating the expo, NAFA Chancellor Naradmadni Hatarmchhali said, "An art is a universal language and this type of expo will help further promote such language."
He was of the opinion of connecting the exhibition with the exchange of culture, knowledge and skills. As he expected, artists should contribute for the cause of global welfare.
NAFA's former Chancellor Kiran Manandhar and Irish artist Lora Murphy expressed gratitude to the NAFA for organising the event. The artist said this type of expo would provide a space for artists to grasp the art, language and culture of another country.
The event presents 82 works by 26 artists, including 65 by Nepali, 22 by the US, two by Danish and two by Irish artists.
According to NAFA member-secretary Devendra Kumar Kafle, the expo will run till January 19.(RSS)
