Myagdi, Jan 17: The federal government has ensured Rs 500 million to blacktop the Kagbeni-Chhusang section of Kaligandaki corridor, the national pride project.
Member of Parliament of Mustang,
Yogesh Gauchan Thakali, said the Finance Ministry has allocated the budget by
allowing the multi-year contract bidding to blacktop 10 kilometres road from
Kagbeni to Chhusang in Baragun Muktichhetra Rural Municipality, Mustang.
With the budget approval, the
multi-year contract bidding for the project will be called in the current
fiscal year for the blacktop.
Chief of Jomsom-Korola Road
Project, Dhruba Kumar Jha, said contract bidding would be issued within the
current fiscal year.
The road will be at least 11 metres
wide and would be done as per the asphalt technology.
The Kaligandaki corridor connecting
both India and China is 435 kilometres long and is considered the lifeline of
Gandaki Province. (RSS)
