Rukum West, Jan. 17: Warm clothes have been distributed to earthquake-affected families in Rukum West and Jajarkot districts.

Nabil Bank provided warm blankets to 96 earthquake-affected families in Chaurjahari Municipality-1 of Rukum West and Nalgad Municipality-1 of Jajarkot. In winter last year, the bank assisted in constructing temporary shelters for the earthquake-affected families.

The distribution took place at the respective ward offices of both districts in the presence of representatives from Nabil Bank.

Premuka Rai, the Chief of Corporate Social Responsibility at Nabil Bank, said that warm blankets were distributed this winter to help earthquake-affected families, who are still compelled to live in temporary shelters, stay protected from the cold. She added that even a small contribution could provide significant relief from the cold.

During the programme, Min Raj Adhikari, Manager of Nabil Bank's Musikot branch, remembered the support extended last winter for constructing temporary shelters when the affected families faced housing problems.

Indra Giri, Ward Chairperson of Chaurjahari Municipality-1, said that last year the Nabil Bank took the initiative to construct 49 shelters for the earthquake-affected families in the ward. He further added that this year, the distribution of warm clothes has provided additional relief to the affected families.

Last year, Nabil Bank supported the construction of 49 temporary shelters in Chaurjahari Municipality-1 and 47 shelters in Nalgad Municipality-1, Jajarkot.
