FDB distributes Film workers’ identity cards

Kathmandu. Jan. 14: The Film Development Board (FDB) has distributed ‘film workers’ identity’ cards to 97 film artists who have contributed to the Nepali film industry for over 20 years.

Board Chairman Dinesh DC distributed the identity cards to the film workers at a programme organised at the Film Development Board amid a special programme. 

Speaking at the programme, DC said that the identity card distribution programme is an important step to ensure the identity, security and respect of film workers.

This step will provide formal recognition of the professional identity of film workers and facilitate their access to their rights and facilities, he added. 

The identity card distribution programme aims to provide film workers not only with professional identity but also with legal security, government services and an opportunity to represent Nepal in international forums. It is expected to help build a database of film workers and modernise the management of the film industry, informed in the programme. 

Identity cards are considered important for increasing the social respect of film workers, facilitating film production and shooting, and participating in social security schemes. 

In addition, it is expected to contribute to the cultural preservation and promotion of Nepal. The film workers participating in the programme also expressed their happiness to receive the identity card and expressed their belief that it will have a positive impact on their professional identity and security.
