Kathmandu, Jan 7: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has presented prizes to medal-winning players, coaches and managers of the SAFF Women Football Championship, Asian Karate Championship and CAVA Beach Volleyball Championship.
The prizes were presented to them
as per the decision taken by the government on December 13, amidst a programme
organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the Prime Minister's official residence today.
Prime Minister Oli presented prizes
to the medal winner of the SAFF Women Football Championship, Amrita Jaisi, main coach
Rajendra Tamang and manager Brinda Dewan. The Football Championship was held in
Kathmandu from October 17-30, 2024.
Similarly, Arika Gurung, medal
winner of the 20th Asian Karate Championship, main coach Kushal Shrestha as
well as the winner of CAVA Women and Men Volleyball Championship- Kamala Pun,
Manish Kumari Chaudhary and coach Rupesh Kumar Bista were awarded the prize.
The 20th Asian Karate Championship
was held in Hangzhou, China, from September 17-23, 2024 while the CAVA Beach
Women's and Men's Volleyball Championship in Thimphu of Bhutan from August 1-4,
2024.
Lauding the athletes for enhancing the country's prestige in the international arena through the medium of sports, Prime
Minister Oli suggested they compete with high esteem and
determination.
