Ijoriya, a Maithili documentary on education launched

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Janakpurdham, Jan. 7: Minister for Education and Culture of Madhes Province, Rani Sharma, launched a Maithili language documentary titled ‘Ijoriya’ during an event held in Janakpur on Sunday evening. 

The documentary aims to educate the most disadvantaged communities and those deprived of education.

On the occasion, Minister Sharma pointed out the need to light the lamp of education. She said that plans were underway to increase investment in education in the province's budget.

The author and director of the documentary, Madhes Province lawmaker Ramashish Yadav, expressed his commitment to using education as a tool for societal change. He emphasised that educating Dalits and poor families was his priority. 

The documentary was coordinated by Dr. Niranjan Goit, with language editing by Dr. Bhogendra Jha and senior physician Dr. SK Singh served as an advisor. 

The documentary highlights efforts to enrol children from rural areas in schools, teach them, retain them and focus on their health through various health camps and assistance programmes.
