Kathmandu, Jan 5: The 15th meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management National Council (DRRMNC) chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the National Authority on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management to bring a concrete plan for post-disaster reconstruction.
The reconstruction plan is sought for the damages caused by the earthquake in west Nepal and the floods occurred in final days of last September.
In the meeting presided over by the DRRMNC chairman and PM Oli, the executive committee of the Authority presented the plans for reconstruction.
The meeting witnessed the estimate of Rs 98.65 billion for the reconstruction of infrastructures including bridges, government buildings, electricity supply, alternative energy, irrigation, private housing and drinking water facilities for three years.
The Council meeting was for the concerned ministries to receive detailed assessment of the damages and inform the Finance Ministry accordingly.
The Authority is planning to provide relief to the families of those losing relatives in the landslides and floods occurred in 2080 and initiate reconstruction and retrofitting of the private houses damaged by Doti Earthquake (including Bajura and Bajhang).(RSS)
