By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 2: Marking the 20th anniversary, Nepalaya, a publication house, has issued an open call for authors aged 25 and below to submit three books for publication.

In a press release, Nepalaya informed, “Any Nepali, of Nepali origin, or Nepali-speaking young individual born after the year 2000 can participate in all three genres including poem, story and essay” said Bimal Acharya, editor at Publication Nepalaya. “Authors can prepare their materials in Nepali, any language spoken in Nepal, or English.”

Furthermore, writers are free to choose any title, subject, style, or tone for their submissions.

Nepalaya informed that they will accept diverse writings such as essays, treatises, memoirs, travelogues, biographies, profiles, features, monologues, humour, satire, commentary, op-eds, letters, reviews, reflections, imagination, opinions, dreams, impressions, myths, oratory, and more.

The submissions must not have been published previously in any medium and should be no more than 2,500 words. Additionally, any material generated using artificial intelligence will be disqualified from the competition, read the press release.

Prepared manuscripts can be submitted via Publication Nepalaya’s website, by February 25.

The selection process prioritises concise, engaging, straightforward, fluid, pure, precise, and impactful writing over lengthy and cumbersome pieces.

The submitted works will be reviewed by a panel of judges comprising Shrawan Mukarung, Bhushita Vasistha, and Narayan Wagle.

These selected writings will be published by Publication Nepalaya in 2025 as three separate books.

Authors whose works are included in the books will receive royalties as per the publisher’s rules, and some may be offered contracts for book publication, read the press release.
