Interest of youth in the ‘Gita’ rising

By Radhakrishna Dumre,Walling, Dec. 23: Interest and enthusiasm among youth in studying the religious text Gita have been growing in recent times. 

During a Gita discourse programme held in Walling, Syangja, on Saturday, participating youth raised queries about the mysteries of the Gita and the important insights it offers on life and the universe.

The programme witnessed significant participation from the younger generation. On the occasion, Pandit Netra Prasad Parajuli delivered a discourse on the significance and essence of the Gita. He emphasised that the Gita teaches the art of living and encapsulates every aspect of human welfare. 

According to him, the Gita is a synthesis of knowledge and science.

The event, organised jointly by the World Hindu Federation District Chapter Syangja, World Hindu Youth Association Syangja, and Kedarnath Language Training and Research Centre Walling, included Gita discourse, study and distribution.

The World Hindu Youth Association Syangja distributed 250 copies of the Gita to participants, informed its chairperson Nawaraj Paudel.

The chairperson of the World Hindu Federation District Chapter Syangja, Harihar Pandey, said that the youth’s active involvement in preserving religion, culture, and traditions has been increasing recently.

Likewise, the chairperson of the Kedarnath Language Training and Research Center, Sitaram Adhikari, mentioned that with the growing interest of the youth in religion and traditions, Sanskrit language training programmes were being conducted regularly.

 He added that most participants in these training programs were youth.
