Former President Bhandari worships in Aalamdevi Temple in Syangja

Waling (Syangja), Dec 20: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has offered worships at the Aalamdevi Tenple at Lasargha of Kaligandaki rural municipality-3 in Syangja district.     

Former President Bhandari ritually offered obeisance at the Temple dedicated to Goddess on Friday. She also observed the Temple area, believed to be built some 730 years ago, besides offering her prayers, according to Pritha Thapa, Chairperson of the Temple Management Committee.     

The Kaligandaki rural municipality welcomed and honoured the former Head of the State at the Temple premises f Kaligandak rural municipality Chairperson Khim Bahadur Thapa shared that it was so prideful moment for them to welcome the former President in their locality.     

On the occasion, former President Bhandari expressed her happiness that her wish to visit the Temple was fulfilled. She admitted that she will always remember the affection shown to her by the citizens here.     

The Goddess in the Temple is considered to be the clan deity of the Shah dynasty. Locals believe that performing puja in this temple averts existing or imminent crisis in life.     

Interestingly, only Thakuri women are allowed to enter the Aalam Devi Temple in the past. The tradition, however, is no longer in practice at present.(RSS)
